Monthly Musings | August 2014

-I have recently been craving cupcakes and cannot get enough of them. Thankfully, I live in an area that has several cute and delicious cupcake bakeries, and I was lucky to try three places in one week. I had Kara's Cupcakes, Frost Cupcake Factory, and Sprinkles. I can honestly say that I enjoyed all three cupcakes, all of them chocolate in one way or another, and therefore, to try to decide which place was the best, I need to eat more. Great plan, right?

-After months of studying, I finally took and passed the NCLEX, meaning I am a registered nurse! I could not be more happy and grateful for all of the love and support my family and friends have shown me these past few months. In order to celebrate, my mom, sister, and I had a girls night complete with Breakfast at Tiffany's, hibiscuses, and chocolate-covered strawberries and apricots. It was a wonderful night!

-One of the great things about summer ending is that it heralds the beginning of football season. As an avid football fan, both college and professional, I love this time of year. Saturdays and Sundays become occupied with either watching the games on the television or attempting to follow them online. However, I was privileged to be in the stands to watch Stanford's season opener against U.C. Davis, in which they shut out Davis 45-0. I am a huge Stanford fan (I might have had more school spirit for Stanford than I did for the college I actually attended) so it was amazing to witness the game in person with my family!

-Christmas is less than four months away, and that means it is time to start celebrating! I have already begun listening to Christmas music and am anxiously waiting for the stores to start decorating. Here is a picture a friend sent me that I can completely relate to. 'Tis the Season (almost)!
This was posted on August 8th, so it's even less than that now!
